The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a government-funded organization that provides financial assistance to students in South Africa.
To access NSFAS funding, students must apply and complete the necessary clearance process.
How to Get NSFAS Clearance
Step 1: Apply for NSFAS Funding
Ensure you have applied for NSFAS funding for the relevant academic year.
Step 2: Log into Your myNSFAS Account
If you’ve received a request to submit supporting documents, log in to your myNSFAS account.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
The following documents may be required:
- NSFAS Declaration Form: Verifies parental/guardian details for applicants 34 years old or younger.
- NSFAS Consent Form: Completed by the applicant and/or parent/guardian/spouse (unless a SASSA recipient).
- Orphan or Vulnerable Child Declaration Form: For applicants under 18 who are orphans or vulnerable children.
- Disability Annexure Form: For applicants with disabilities, completed with a medical report.
- Other Required Documents: The system will generate a list based on your application type.
Step 4: Submit Documents
Upload all required documents to your myNSFAS account.
Step 5: Wait for Confirmation
After submitting documents, wait for NSFAS to process your application and provide confirmation of your funding status.
