Eligibility Requirements
Returning students and university students who have previously received NSFAS funding must re-apply and meet the continuing student academic eligibility requirements to receive funding for the upcoming academic year.
How to Apply for NSFAS Allowance for Returning Students
Online Application
To apply for NSFAS funding, returning students must:
- Visit the NSFAS website and create a myNSFAS account
- Click on the “APPLY” tab and complete the online application
- Upload required supporting documents, if requested
- Submit the application
NSFAS Application 2025
Application Period
The NSFAS application period for the 2025 academic year opened on September 20, 2024, and closed on December 15, 2024.
Students and prospective students had three months to apply.

The application requires a cell phone number, email address, and a copy of the student’s ID or birth certificate, among other documents.
