Registering with NSFAS at UNISA
To register with NSFAS at UNISA, students must first ensure they have the necessary supporting documents. These include:
Supporting Documents
- South African Identity Document/Card: A certified and valid copy of your South African identity document or card (or an unabridged birth certificate if you are younger than 16 years old).
- Parent/Guardian ID: A certified and valid copy of your parent/guardian’s ID (or death certificate where applicable).
- Proof of Income: A pay advice/letter of employment/pension advice stating income (SASSA slips are not required and SASSA should not be included as household income).
- Consent Form: A completed and signed consent form, which can be downloaded from the NSFAS website.
- Disability Documentation: If you have a disability, you must download and complete the Disability Annexure A from the NSFAS website and submit it with your application.
Application Requirements
- Certified Documents: All certified documents must have a stamp that is not older than three months.
- Complete Application: Applications without a consent form signed by all the people whose incomes have been declared in the application will not be accepted and will be considered incomplete.
