The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) provides financial assistance to millions of South Africans through various grants, including the R350 grant.
One way to manage your SASSA grant is through the Moya app, a free mobile application that allows you to check your grant status, report fraud, and access other SASSA services.
Downloading the Moya App
To use the Moya app, follow these steps:
- Find “MoyaApp Data Free” in your phone’s app store.
- Download and install it just like any other app.
- The app works on both Android and iPhone devices.
Registering for Moya
When you open the app for the first time, you must register with your phone number. This links your account to your device.
Checking SASSA Status on Moya
To check your SASSA grant status on Moya:
- Go to the bottom and tap “Discovery.”
- Choose “Services & Money”, then tap “SASSA Relief” and then “Status.”

Other SASSA Services on Moya
In addition to checking status, Moya allows you to:
- Report grant fraud
- Apply for new cards
- View past payout details
- Manage cardless withdrawal settings
Important Notes
- Moya does not allow you to apply for new grants, which must be done directly via SASSA.
- Moya is a separate company from SASSA, but offers an easy way to get status updates through the app once approved.
