SASSA fixes grant payment delays

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has advised beneficiaries of the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant who have applied for reconsideration of their grant payment to be patient while the agency works on resolving the issue.

Reconsideration of Grant Payment

SASSA has explained that the delay in addressing reconsideration requests is due to applicants whose application may have been declined for any period while they had no income in the preceding month.

How to Lodge an Appeal

If your R350 SRD grant application has been declined, you can lodge an appeal by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the SASSA SRD Grant Website

Go to the SASSA SRD Grant website and scroll down to ‘Application for reconsideration’.

Step 2: Fill in the Required Fields

Click on the yellow bar and fill in the required fields to submit your application for reconsideration.

How to Check Your Appeal Status

If you have lodged a SASSA SRD grant appeal, you can check your status by following these steps:

Step 1: Go to the SRD Grant Website

Go to the SRD Grant website and scroll down to ‘Click here to apply online or check reconsideration status’.

Step 2: Fill in the Required Fields
